Applicant Season

Dr. Jenna Geohagan, PGY 2
This time of year makes me reminisce on the excitement and accompanying stress that surrounds trying to figure out which program suits your educational, family, and overall life needs. Therefore, I wanted to highlight three of my favorite aspects of the Great Plains Family Medicine Residency Program, so applicants have a better idea of who we are as a residency program.

Home Where It Belongs...

June 20, 2014 was a very good day...at least for the Great Plains Family Medicine Residents! The OAFP "Quiz Bowl" Trophy is now solidly at our home clinic for the 2014-15 year, thanks to Drs. Vonfeldt, Wright, Landt and Wheeler.

It's Almost Time!...

New Year, Mid-Year

Terrence Truong, MD
After the blur of a whirlwind of a holiday schedule, GPFM physicians and staff alike reconnect with one another as we resume our work during this first full week of the new year.

I can't believe we're heading into recruiting season again (or how many of these I've gone through)!

Jenna Geohagan, MD

I rotated at Great Plains after my first year of medical school. Even though I knew almost nothing, I was immediately treated as an equal. During those four weeks, I injected knees, delivered my first baby, participated in C-sections, and learned more than I could ever imagine from the outstanding attendings at Great Plains. As my medical education progressed, every program I saw fell short of my experience at Great Plains. The residents are bright and fun, the staff is energetic and compassionate, and the attendings are absolutely fantastic. The attendings cultivate a healthy learning environment and push you to become a better physician, yet do not make you feel inadequate along the journey. They provide support, humor, and knowledge consistently, whether it is 3:00 PM or AM. I am so thrilled to have matched at my #1 ranked program!

Education: MD, University of Oklahoma College of Medicine

Attending Broadway performances, hiking, playing volleyball or golf, cheering on the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and OKC Thunder, watching cheesy romantic comedies and action movies, reading fiction, attending Crossfit 405, traveling, and spending time with my husband, friends, and family.
