This time of year makes me reminisce on the excitement and accompanying stress that surrounds trying to figure out which program suits your educational, family, and overall life needs. Therefore, I wanted to highlight three of my favorite aspects of the Great Plains Family Medicine Residency Program, so applicants have a better idea of who we are as a residency program.

Suture Clinic

Posted by DRH on 02/06/2009

Every year Great Plains collaborates with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Family and Community Medicine Interest Group to invite first or second year medical students for some real, hands-on training. This year we offered two back-to-back suture clinics. Great Plains provided a meal and all supplies, as well as excellent instruction from our faculty and residents. The classes filled up quickly with waiting lists for both sessions. We're working on more offerings later this year.
